WooshBall – Empowering Women Globally Team-Building Event
In a recent initiative to foster team-building among Brazilian students participating in Bradley University’s Empowering Women Globally (EWG) program, organizers introduced WooshBall as a central activity. Co-founded by Tazio Grivetti, an occasional instructor at Bradley, and Michael Jirik, WooshBall is a unique sport that blends elements of baseball and softball, designed to be inclusive and enjoyable for participants of all skill levels.
The Brazilian students, many of whom had never played bat-and-ball games before, quickly adapted, showcasing enthusiasm and teamwork. Grivetti emphasized the sport’s accessibility, noting that stellar athleticism isn’t required to participate, while Jirik highlighted its universal appeal, regardless of age, gender, or athletic ability. This engaging experience not only provided a fun diversion but also strengthened bonds among the students, enhancing their collaborative spirit as they prepared to apply their entrepreneurial insights both in the U.S. and upon returning to Brazil.
